A living example of unity, generosity and the Gratitude Angel in motion
Something powerful is happening at the Gratitude Hub — and it reaches far beyond a food bank. Every day, people walk through our doors with one shared intention: to give, to serve and to support others. From that simple purpose, something extraordinary begins to grow.
Kindness grows. Connection grows. Understanding grows. And over time, something even greater takes shape — a compassionate community cohesion.
At Gratitude, diversity is not something we talk about — it is something we live. On any given day, you will hear voices and languages from across the world: Somalia, Poland, Thailand, England, the Seychelles, Afghanistan, Israel, Iran and beyond. Many of our volunteers have experienced hardship themselves, many have been separated from the love and support they know. Yet here at Gratitude Hub we stand side by side, choosing to give back and our care for each other and each others’ needs grow.
Different faiths and traditions come together here — Muslim, Jewish, Jains, Hare Krishna, Christian, Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu and more — united not by similarity, but by shared values of compassion, dignity and service.
And when people come together in this way, something shifts. Differences become strengths. Barriers begin to fall. A deeper sense of belonging starts to emerge.
This spirit comes to life through action.
During Purim, members of Kehilat Neshira prepared 200 care bags filled with essential hygiene items for Gratitude service users. Volunteers also created Mishloach Manot food parcels — gifts that carry deep meaning, representing care, dignity and human connection. These parcels reached both local families and patients at Barnet Hospital, ensuring that even those away from home felt remembered and supported.
At the same time, throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the Hub has distributed around 460 iftar food bags each week. Each bag represents more than a meal — it creates a moment for families to come together, to break their fast and to share in something meaningful at the end of a long day.

Gratitude builds community connections
At Gratitude, when a need arises, an answer often follows.
We have come to call this the Gratitude Angel.
Time and time again, just as a gap appears, support arrives. Food donations increase. Volunteers step forward. Partnerships form. What feels like a challenge one moment becomes an opportunity the next. Whether you see it as kindness in motion, collective intention, or something more spiritual, the result is always the same — the community shows up.
We saw this clearly when surplus food from the Hub went on to support four other local food banks, extending the impact far beyond our walls. We see it every week through our ongoing support of Bhaktivedanta Manor, where meals are prepared daily and offered freely to anyone who visits.
Giving here does not deplete — it multiplies.
And as we move into a new season, that same energy continues to grow.
Preparations are now underway for our Gratitude Easter Egg Hunt, a free event created to bring joy to local children and families. As always, the moment we share the vision, the response begins. Donations arrive. Volunteers step forward. An idea quickly becomes something real, joyful and shared.
This is the rhythm of Gratitude.
We see a need.
The community responds.
And together, we create something greater than any one person could achieve alone.
The true impact of the Hub cannot be measured in numbers alone. It lives in the small, powerful moments — when someone chooses to give their time, when a stranger offers support, when people from different walks of life stand side by side with a shared purpose. A community cohesion grows.
Gratitude is a place where people do more than coexist — they actively lift one another. Where celebrations are shared, challenges are met with action, and giving becomes a language that everyone understands.
Because when people come together in service, something profound happens.
Understanding deepens.
Connection strengthens.
And a simple act of giving becomes a force for unity.
This is what it means to build a stronger community cohesion.
This is Gratitude.
